Legendary entertainer Frank Sinatra, who has enjoyed a long and positive relationship with Blacks, recently celebrated his 80th birthday with a television concert featuring some of today's most popular stars.
"Sinatra: 80 Years My Way," the show's title, included such artists as Ray Charles, Little Richard, Natalie Cole, Patti LaBelle, Paula Abdul (see page 44), Salt-N-Pepa and Hootie and The Blowfish.
The famed entertainer's birthday bash took place at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The show, to be edited into a two-hour ABC-TV special tentatively scheduled to air on Dec. 14, will benefit AIDS Project Los Angeles and The Barbara Sinatra Children's Center. ...
