Article: Nymex board OKs year-round specification of 1.5% oxygen in NYH gasoline contract.(New York Mercantile Exchange, New York Harbor, oxygenated fuel specifications)

Directors of the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) voted Wednesday night to change the New York Harbor (NYH) gasoline contract to year-round 1.5% oxygenated fuel specifications.

The amended contract will have a minimum oxygen requirement of 1.5% under the reformulated gasoline (RFG) program and will be listed for 12 months out, Nymex said.

"In our research, we found the 1.5% minimum oxygen RFG cash market to be extremely active in New York Harbor," said Nymex President R. Patrick Thompson.

In addition, Nymex said RFG with a 2% minimum oxygen requirement will be allowable for delivery between November through February.
