Directors of the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) voted Wednesday night to change the New York Harbor (NYH) gasoline contract to year-round 1.5% oxygenated fuel specifications.
The amended contract will have a minimum oxygen requirement of 1.5% under the reformulated gasoline (RFG) program and will be listed for 12 months out, Nymex said.
"In our research, we found the 1.5% minimum oxygen RFG cash market to be extremely active in New York Harbor," said Nymex President R. Patrick Thompson.
In addition, Nymex said RFG with a 2% minimum oxygen requirement will be allowable for delivery between November through February.
