The Philippine Exporters Confederation (Philexport) and the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECoP) are willing to grant pay increases determined by regional wage boards to help their workers cope with increasing costs of basic food items, but vehemently oppose one fixed by Congress.
The official stand was made by Philexport and ECoP as the clamor for wage adjustments gained momentum in reaction to the sudden rise in the prices of food items, particularly rice as Labor Day approached.
