Rosenlew RKW's history as a packaging manufacturer goes back to the 1920s, when the Rosenlew family company began producing paper sacks. Production of packaging began to grow rapidly in the 1960s with the introduction of plastics.

In the 1970s and 1980s, Rosenlew became one of the largest packaging companies in Europe. Its main products were plastic sacks, flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBCs), sacks and bags for retail use and a range of packaging films.
