ABSTRACT
Planthoppers in the genus Belocera Muir, 1913 (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea: Delphacidae: Delphacinae: Tropidocephalini) feed exclusively on bamboo (Poaceae: Bambusoideae). Three species, B. sinensis Muir (Macao, Taiwan, Guizhou, Hainan, China), B. nigrinotalis Ding and Yang (Yunnan, China), B. fuscifrons Chen (Guizhou, China), and 2 new species, B. lanpingensis Chen and Yang sp. nov. (Yunnan, China), B. ampelocalama Chen and Tsai sp. nov. (Guizhou, China) are described in this manuscript. One new synonymy reported, B. huangbiana Knob, 1980 is a junior synonym of B. sinensis Muir, 1913. The male of B. fuscifrons is reported and described for the first time. The generic ...
