They came to Memphis to reconnect with the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

They came from all over the nation--Blacks, Whites, Hispanics and Asians, rich and poor. It didn't matter what color or how much money they had. They marched side by side and were united with one common purpose: to remember King and what he stood for on the 40th anniversary of the civil rights leader's assassination. King would have been proud, many said.
