After 25 years of service, Jim Ellis, vice president of Barton Malow Specialty Contracting and co-founder of the Rigging Division, retired on January 31.
Ellis began his career with Barton Malow in 1983 when he was asked to establish Barton Malow Rigging along with John (Big John)Wozniak. They started the division owning nothing and simply renting what was needed. The division consisted of Ellis, Wozniak and an office manager, Alfreda Kozicki (recently retired). Rigging soon prospered through referrals and repeat business due to great customer service.
