FORMER Dublin Assistant County Manager George Redmond has been accusedof telling gardai that he took corrupt payments.
However, a court heard that Mr Redmond is denying taking the money in relationto a compulsory purchase order on land.
The Dublin Circuit Criminal Court was told yesterday that Mr Redmond toldsenior gar-dai he received the money.
The cash allegedly came from the now deceased Fianna Fail county councillorPatrick Dunne, who represented the Malahide area of north Dublin.
Prosecutor Pauline Walley SC said Mr Redmond told two gardai in March 1999: He[Mr Dunne] paid me [pounds sterling]10,000 in relation to a compulsory ...
