LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 25, 1996--The LAX Master Plan -- the most comprehensive planning process in the history of Los Angeles International Airport -- held its first public workshops last week.

Nearly 600 residents of Los Angeles and surrounding communities accepted the invitation to learn more about changes that may be needed to ensure LAX can effectively manage expected growth in demand for air transportation services over the next 20 years.

Beginning about a year ago, the Los Angeles Department of Airports (LADOA) has been gathering input from residents, businesses, labor and environmental leaders about the future of the 66-year-old airport.
