Educating the public about the benefits of vaccination is the top priority of the grassroots leadership of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

The leadership of the AAP's chapters, sections, councils, and committees met at the Annual Leadership Forum in March to recommend policy actions to the organization's board of directors. At this year's meeting, the delegates to the leadership forum recommended that the academy lead a coalition of organizations in developing a media campaign to educate parents on "the value of immunizations and the importance of child health recommendations based on credible scientific evidence."
