Design: Topical review of recent studies of women and animal models with endometriosis.
Aim: Endometriosis is a common disorder that occurs mainly in women of reproductive age. Pain symptoms are similar to those associated with interstitial cystitis, uterine pain and kidney stones. This review investigates the association between endometriosis (ectopic endometrial implants) and the variable types and severity of endometriosis-associated pains.
