PVH TO BUY MULBERRY FOR $10M.(Company overview)

NEW YORK - Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. is adding Mulberry to its neckwear stable.

PVH will announce today that it is acquiring certain assets of Mulberry Thai Silks Inc., a privately held neckwear and sportswear manufacturer, for $10 million. This confirms a report in DNR on April 7, page 3, that the California-based company was on the block.

Founded by CEO and creative director Henry Jacobson in 1988, Mulberry Neckwear LLC, a division of Mulberry Thai Silks Inc. and the third largest neckwear company in the country, has an attractive brand portfolio of designer neckwear licenses, including Kenneth Cole, BCBG and Sean John.
