The Baxter Theatre will present the Handspring Puppet Company's Woyzeck on the Highveld from next week. Directed by William Kentridge, this will be its first performance in Cape Town. Handspring's BASIL JONES and ADRIAN KOHLER spoke to KAREN RUTTER.
First, a complaint: how come we in Cape Town don't get to see that much of you? The last production we saw was Tall Horse, several years ago. There is a devoted fan base here, you know.
After Tall Horse, the next production took three years to develop! This is common for puppet theatre, as we have to write the scripts, and design and create the characters.
