CHICAGO -- Five young Chicago-area LEGO enthusiasts have parlayed their LEGO skills to earn slots on the Junior Constructor Team selected to help launch the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Chicago/Schaumburg. The two-story, 30,000-square-foot indoor LEGO world will be the first fun spot of its kind outside of Germany when it opens near Woodfield Shopping Center in late July.
Winners of the Junior Constructor Team competition are Charlotte Brown, 8, of Arlington Heights; Sean Finley, 9, of Clarendon Hills; Ben Herring, 8, of Carol Stream; Remington Reid, 11, of Cary; and Drew Schwartz, 10, of Wheeling. Entries were judged on originality, creativity, skill and enthusiasm.
