Weybread archer Alec James fought off watching wildebeest and the sweltering sun to take silver at the World Field Archery Championship in Namibia.
Representing England, James finished second behind German Arno Kaczmarek in the veteran (over 50s) male section of the barebow compound class.
James finished with a score of 2,004, from a maximum of 2,800, with gold medalist Kaczmarek scoring 2,082 and Phil Smith, of England, taking bronze with 1,836.
The 57-year-old has won European and national golds but this was his first medal at a world championship.
