PENSIONERS and vulnerable people in Linlithgow are going to be able to give cold callers the red card!
The Journal and Gazette has sponsored the scheme, which will block cold callers from the town.
Elderly and vulnerable residents will be given the red cards, which explain that cold callers are not welcome.
Police say con artists often pose as door-to-door salesmen or odd-job men, and prey on vulnerable residents or attempt to enter their homes to steal.
The red card scheme not only sends out a clear message to undesirable cold callers, but also provides advice on who residents can phone for help if they are worried.
