The dental crisis in Lancashire is set to be eased with the opening of a new NHS dentist.
ADP Dental Company Ltd is set to open three dental surgeriess, creating a total of 11,000 spaces.
The first, on Towngate, Leyland, will open on May 7 and will house four working dentists - two from Eastern Europe and two who qualified in the UK.
Bosses at Central Lancashire Primary Care Trust have written to more than 6,000 people in Preston, Chorley, South Ribble and surrounding areas, registered on their dental access database, to offer them a space.
Already, 4,000 people have replied to take up one of the NHS places on offer.
