THOUGH SLIM AND STYLISH ENOUGH to impress in the boardroom, the $1,799 Asus U6S disappoints on the road.
Weighing just under 4 pounds, the U6S pushes the definition of "ultraportable" to the limit. Though Asus gets points for trying to make the U6S seem luxurious with its glossy brown lid and matching leather palm rest, the system suffers from a few usability issues, starting with its stiff touch-pad buttons and lack of a scroll strip. We also found that the fingerprint scanner embedded between the buttons is far too easy to swipe by accident. (Thankfully, Asus included a Bluetooth mouse.)
