NEW YORK -- A group of seven apparel manufactures, six of them Canadian, have joined forces to launch a coordinated bridge men's wear collection under the Guy Laroche label for fall.

In what it considers a unique arrangement in the industry, the seven firms have formed a consortium which will work as a team to control design, quality, sales, marketing and brand image in the United States and Canada.

The project, which will be introduced for the fall '96 season at MAGIC next week, was spearheaded by Montreal-based Mr. Jeff Inc., which has marketed Guy Laroche shirts and sleepwear in Canada under license for 13 years.
