FOSTER CITY, Calif.--(HealthWire)--Jan. 28, 1996--Gilead Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: GILD) announced today the presentation of interim data from 100 patients in a randomized, controlled pivotal study indicating that treatment with VISTIDE(TM) (cidofovir intravenous) delayed time to disease progression in patients with relapsing CMV retinitis, when compared to historical controls.
Data presented demonstrated that the most frequently studied maintenance dose of VISTIDE (5mg/kg) was more effective than a lower dose (3mg/kg) in delaying the progression of CMV retinitis in patients with AIDS. These data confirm the times to progression reported for each dose group in October ...
