As months of rain give way to occasional days of sun - and a bumper crops of dandelions - it's decision time for lawn owners.

Jeff Choate, who has a master's degree in soil science, has worked as a horticultural agent with the Oregon State University Extension Service in Douglas County. He now is the training manager for garden center and other workers at Jerry's Home Improvement Center.
