For billionaire weapons manufacturer Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), peace means "having a bigger stick than the other guy."

The best weapon is not one you never have to fire, but one that you only have to fire once. Stark's father made his name with the A-bomb. Tony adds to the family fortune by keeping various factions in the Middle East well-armed.
