THE 2008 fishing season has not had a very auspicious opening two months, although there have been a few highlights.
The weather has certainly not been kind and for those of us who fish highland fisheries we've had some very cold weather to put up with. In some cases, it has been dominated by a "lazy" north wind - the kind of wind that goes straight through you rather than around you.
Old Jack Frost has also been rather persistent at nights. These conditions have brought into question some of the global warming predictions.
