"Invest": that was the key message Transport Commissioner Jacques Barrot put out to EU transport ministers during the debate on the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) at the informal Council in Brdo, on 6 May. The day before the meeting, the commissioner told journalists that he planned to "tweak the ministers' ears". A working paper drawn up by his services for this informal Council reviews the state of progress of the TEN-T, the investments agreed, those still to come and scheduled completion dates.
