I am a consulting engineer who has been a member and served as vice chairman of ASHRAE TC 5.7, Evaporative Cooling, over most of the last 20 years. I provided the information that was adopted into ASHRAE Guideline 12 regarding the proper control of microbial growth in cold water humidifiers based on years of experience working with the product.
