Nearly 130 Baby Cafes provide a place for mothers to share experiences and seek advice on breastfeeding, using a model established and supported by the Baby Cafe Charitable Trust and its founders Catherine Pardoe and Julie Williams, both lactation consultants.
Julie, a former health visitor, states: 'It has amazed us that the model can be adapted to fit the service delivery in many different countries and healthcare systems. In real terms, it translates into thousands of mums being given breastfeeding support, with some wonderful stories of personal triumphs around the world.'
