Joni Mitchell's first studio album since 1999's Taming The Tiger, a spare meditation on environmental destruction and religious warfare, is an easy target for cheap criticism. The wags will call Joni hypocritical for denouncing the "cesspit" of the music industry in 2002 and vowing to leave it forever, only to return with this album on, of all things, the Starbucks music label. They will accuse her of selling out by including a new, radio-friendly version of "Big Yellow Taxi."
