Floyd "Red Crow" Westerman, a Native American Indian (Oglala, Lakota Sioux) activist, folk singer and actor from South Dakota, died at the age of 71 on Thursday, December 13th, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center of complications from Leukemia, his son Richard "Tall Bear" Westerman confirmed to us all.

Floyd served in the United States Marine Corps. For two years, he studied law, and then became one of the creators of the American Indian Movement (AIM) in the early 1960s in St. Paul, Minnesota.
