What do athletes Kyle Bennett, Jill Kintner, and Bubba Harris have in common? The superstar young cyclists are all hoping to land a spot on the first U.S. bicycle motocross (BMX) Olympic team. BMX racers ride laps around bumpy tracks and jump over mounds of dirt while trying to avoid wiping out, or crashing.

BMX racing is just one of several new events that will be part of the 2008 Summer Olympics, a sporting event in which athletes from around the world compete. The Summer Olympics take place every four years. This summer, the Olympics will run from August 8 to 24 in Beijing. That is the capital of China, a country in Asia.
