The whistle-blower who prompted an investigation into the North Syracuse Police Department has sued the village and three former police officers, including the former chief.
Former village Officer Michael Stassi is asking for $5 million for loss of wages and benefits, defamation of character and emotional pain, suffering and distress.
The civil rights complaint, filed in federal court, names the village, the board of trustees, Mayor John Heindorf, the village Police Department and former police Chief David Wilkinson, Capt. Michael Casey and Sgt. Daniel Keefe as defendants. The three officers were indicted in 2006 on ...
