PARADISE ISLAND, The Bahamas, Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Sun International Hotels Limited (Nasdaq: SIHLF, SIHBF) today announced that it is planning an approximately $300 million expansion of its Atlantis Resort and Casino complex on Paradise Island, The Bahamas. The expansion plan, which raises the company's investment on Paradise Island to more than $500 million, calls for the addition of a new hotel with over 1,000 rooms, an expansion of the ocean themed attractions of Atlantis, and a significant increase in casino and convention space. The company expects to begin construction during the first half of 1996 and anticipates opening the project in the first quarter of 1998.
