DETROIT, Jan. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- General Motors Corporation (NYSE: GM) today reported record 1995-fourth-quarter consolidated net income of $1.9 billion, or $1.98 per share of GM $1-2/3 par value common stock, compared with $1.6 billion, or $1.74 per share, in the fourth quarter of 1994. That represents an improvement of $294 million, or 18.7 percent, compared with the year-ago period.

Consolidated net income for the calendar year was a record $6.9 billion, or $7.21 per share, compared with $4.9 billion, or $5.15 per share, in 1994.
