LAS VEGAS - Pioneer Electronic U.S.A. Inc. is banking on its new product, a car receiver that doubles as an anti-theft device, to be the next big breakthrough product for its car audio division.
Sam McClain, Pioneer's national sales manager, said the company has taken stereo security beyond the detachable faceplate with this new product. Instead of having to install a separate car alarm, everything is contained in the head unit itself All the necessary sensors can be hooked into the stereo so that when the alarm is set off it blasts through the stereo speakers instead of just through a siren located in the engine compartment.
