BNAmericas has stated that Uruguay's state-run telecom service provider, Antel, plans to unveil landline services in the country. The company said that it is also looking to revamp its rural telephony service, Ruralcel, which currently has 38,000 users in Uruguay. Antel is also busy improving TDMA infrastructure to GSM (global system for mobile) communications.
