After a partial collapse of the 320-foot high central boiler chimney at the Polo Grounds Towers in upper Manhattan, the New York City Housing Authority retained Hall Partnership Architects to investigate the structural stability of the remaining chimney and develop a strategy to stabilize the masonry assembly.
The collapse occurred during a wind storm in January, 2005. The New York City Housing Authority responded immediately. The Hall Partnership responded to the emergency call and performed a visual inspection of the chimney.
