In concerted efforts with the US Justice Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigations just launched an unprecedented, full-scale campaign, to combat international organized crime--and part of the focus is their involvement in the energy markets.
"Concerning futures trading manipulation, international Organized Criminals are known to use sophisticated criminal tradecraft to conduct their illegal activities," said FBI spokesperson, Denise Ballew. "While the FBI is presently not prepared to discuss the manipulation of futures markets by IOC, we recognize this as a significant threat."
