Few new businesses made as strong an impression on the toy market in 2007 than KidsGive and its Karito Kids line of multi-ethnic, charity-supporting play dolls. Seemingly overnight, reaction to the line went from "Karito who?" to "keep it coming," as an incredible list of kudos was compiled on its behalf.
"It feels in a weird way like this whole company was really meant to be," says Laura Rangel, Kids Give's CEO and co-founder. "There are so many hurdles to starting your own company. To have the patch that we've had was the result of not only a lot of hard work, but a lot of good fortune."
