The European Commission will, on 13 May, take a careful approach on improving the contribution of information and communication technologiesa(ICT) to energy efficiency in a communication by Information Society Commissioner Viviane Reding. Although a draft of the communication, seen by Europolitics Information Society, does not propose concrete measures, the Commission stresses how keen it is to bring stakeholders together so that ICT comes to be seen more generally as an enabler for energy efficiency(1).
