May 13, 2008 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The mass media giant News Corporation has made a key appointment in Europe. On 13 May 2008, News announced that it had installed Sky Italia CEO Tom Mockridge as head of its European TV division. Mockridge had staged a remarkable turnaround at Sky Italia, returning it to strong profit within four years. He will oversee the operation of News in several European nations and report to James Murdoch, the chair and CEO of News Corporation Europe and Asia.
