COOPERSTOWN - With the cold eyes of Ruth, Cobb, Johnson, Mathewson and Waner looking over his shoulder, Goose Gossage said he was sorry for being old school.
He quickly thought better of it as he sat in the Hall of Fame Gallery, as if all those eyes reminded him there's nothing wrong with embracing the older, if not passe, tenets of baseball.
"I'm not going to make any apologies," the nine-time All-Star said after touring the Hall of Fame on Monday as part of his induction orientation.
