TEENAGER Lauren Strawford was part way through her studies to be a nursery nurse when she collapsed through ill health.
Lauren, of Sutton Cold field, had been feeling unwell for weeks and was taken to hospital where doctors told her she was anaemic.
But despite efforts to improve her iron count, Lauren remained unwell until her own doctor took a blood test - and discovered she had coeliac disease.
Affecting one in a hundred people in this country, coeliac disease is an autoimmune condition in which the gut is damaged each time gluten is eaten.
