Nothing is worse than sitting in a classroom with an instructor who has no ability to effectively engage students. Who can forget the scene from the 1986 movie, Ferris Bueller'sDay Off, when the economics instructor, played by Ben Stein, conducts his monotonous, one-way class? Students completely lost in the lecture sit silently, mouths agape, eyes unblinking while the instructor drones on ... and on ... and on. The result is students fail to absorb the information they need to learn.
