I've admired the work of Rushworth Kidder for some time, dating back to my days in newspaper journalism in the 1980s when I'd occasionally encounter his humanistic take on matters of the day in editorial page essays appearing in The Christian Science Monitor, where he was a senior columnist. Kidder now directs a most unusual leadership organization in Rockland, Maine, the Institute for Global Ethics, and it's in that regard that we've called on him a few times to contribute to our pages.
