MYTHOLMROYD Chrysanthemum Society has disbanded after 74 years
But the few remaining members hope to attract more green-fingered to a new Mytholmroyd Horticultural Society.
The disbanded group is inviting anyone interested in forming a group to a meeting at St Michael's Church hall on May 22 at 7.30pm.
Former secretary for 23 years Stuart Jackson, 64, said: "I am sad to see the group go after 74 years. No one grows chrysanthemums in Mytholmroyd any more, so we were relying on outside groups. But we have a lot of good flower artists and felt it would be a shame to let them go.
