Feb. 2--Twin Cities Stores Inc., an Eagan-based convenience-store chain,

has bought the 28 Brooks stores in the Twin Cities area from the Fleming Cos. and is converting them into Oasis Market stores.

The purchase gives Twin Cities Stores a 72-store Oasis chain, one of the largest in the metropolitan area, behind Hastings-based Tom Thumb Stores, which has 90 units.

Twin Cities Stores was formed in 1994 by Roundtree Capital Corp., Santa Barbara, Calif., when the investment banking firm bought 44 of 83 Finamart stores in the metropolitan area from the Fina oil company. It changed the name of its Finamart stores to Oasis Market in September.
