One of the great mysteries of Brian Cowen's Government is why the anti-Bertie media was so concerned about the promotional prospects of one Peter Power, a TD from Limerick. In the Dail largely courtesy of Willie O'Dea's transfers, to the officious bystander Peter Power would not have seemed the obvious choice for elevation in a reshuffle, but his was a name that seemed to come up wherever political journalists gathered to talk about promotions.
