LONDON, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Just ten weeks after receiving final approval from the European Commission, international railway group Adtranz (ABB Daimler-Benz Transportation GmbH) is a fully operational worldwide business, Mr. Kaare Vagner, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Adtranz Group, explained today in a press conference.
Vagner, 49, has been in charge of the world's most complete railway systems supplier since January 1, 1996. On that date the group was established by the merger of the railway activities of Swedish-Swiss electrical engineering group ABB Asea Brown Boveri (Zurich) and Germany's Daimler-Benz AG (Stuttgart).
