Uterine artery embolization, or UAE, is a good alternative to hysterectomy in women with symptomatic fibroids, according to a recent study from Europe that appeared in the March issue of Radiology. Researchers said that women who underwent UAE had a shorter hospital stay, a faster recovery time and were mostly satisfied with their quality of life after the procedure.
