The United Kingdom has formally joined the Synthetic Theater of War (STOW) Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD), a senior DoD official said yesterday. Jack Bachkosky, Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Advanced Technology, told reporters that the British participation was approved Dec. 14. The demonstration provides simulation and training capabilities, such as mission rehearsal, for joint task force commanders, he added. The lead Pentagon agency involved is the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA), but the program office is sponsored by the United States Atlantic Command, Norfolk, Va.
