Que Syrah, Syrah ...(WINE ZONE)

In the early 1990s, I fell in love with a grape variety called Syrah. Wine enthusiasts do this from time to time, and I am no exception to the rule.

On many evenings after a long day at work at our winery, I'd grab a bite with my friend and colleague, Doug Shafer, and we would order Syrahs. The thing about this wine that amazed us was that it could be produced so successfully in so many different styles: from light and fruity to big, lush and hedonistic.
